Yes
Today and tomorrow they are filming footage for the film Rush about Nikki Lauda. There will be 70's F1 cars on track and spectator entry is free. Spectators are asked where possible to wear period 70's clothing So if you want to be a possible movie star, get your backsides down to Snetterton.

If it were nice weather and they were using real F1 cars then I'd probably go, but as they're all fake approximations using Rover V8's then I may not bother.

The body panels all come off and they make several different cars from one chassis.

Unless tomorrow is nice...

you sure? the ones i've seen on twitter look pretty real

In fact the Ferrari they dented today is apparently worth several million dollars and is due to be in Monaco next week.

I understood that the budget didn't stretch to hiring real ones, but did permit constructing some replicas - but were all built by people with access to real cars - Rob Austin built one, Mirage some others.

I know one of the guys who was doing the livery changes.

But maybe they are using some real ones for sound sampling? A Rover V8 is hardly convincing.
