Not sure what I'm looking for out of posting this, but every now and then I think to my self what I would like to do next in my photog hobby, and what interests me.
One particular area of interest is the sky, clouds, the moon, stars etc....

So I guess I'm looking for advice on this!
I have a dream lens in mind for this, which would be the Sigma 10-20mm.

So if anyone can offer any help or advice, ie camera settings, and anything else you can think of, please reply!

Here's a shot I done with the a100 some time ago which has kind of inspired me.....

Andy, I don't think you need any advice. That shot is brilliant!

Skies can be very interesting subjects. Don't rely too much on the Sigma 10-22 though. It's very wide - I have the Canon 10-22 which is similar. Often the interesting features in the sky won't be that big, and/or you can't get a clear shot because of earthbound objects intruding into the frame. It's a useful tool to have in the arsenal though.

Photographing stars can be fun. But not easy. Here's one I took last summer with the 10-22:

There's an explanation of how I did it, with some useful dos and don'ts, here.

The moon is a much more challenging subject though. You need a really long lens to get anything decent. This was done at 800mm (Canon 100-400L plus 2x Extender):

Anyway, I think the sky and the objects in it is a great field for photography. Enjoy!

Andy, I love the rays in that shot. I agree with Stuart, the sky is a fascinating place to view and image, not that I've managed to produce images like that. Here's one I did capture of the International Space Station though using the maximum exposure of 30 seconds on my Z2

A tighter crop may have been better, but I wanted to get the stars in the Plough as well.

WOWZERS!

Those shots are stunning guys!

Gotta leave for work in a mo  so I'll have a good look at your posts tonight.
Thanks for posting!

Andy, I haven't posted any of these sort of shots on here, as my interest in sky shots is mainly from an Astronomy point of view (satellites and constellations is about my cameras limit at the moment). I'm hoping to get a dSLR soon, and can have a go at the moon at a 2m focal length through my telescope.
