Smugmug and Luminar 3

Just had an email from Smugmug as my website's through them, telling me they're giving me a FREE copy of Luminar 3.

Never used Luminar so can anyone please tell me if it's worth downloading at all? From past experience, sometimes even FREE stuff is not worth bothering with.

As an amateur photographer doing mostly street photography, I rank it up there with ON1 Photo Raw for processing, especially the AI enhancement features. One for the creative photographer, perhaps. For wildlife photography? Maybe not so much.

Thanks for the reply Garry. Just watched a couple of YT videos and hadn't realised that Luminar 3 was an alternative to Lightroom.

Just had the same email from Smugmug, downloaded and installed it, seems ok so far and not difficult to use.after 10+ years of using Lightroom

Hi, Just be aware that a version 4 is just round the corner. I used Luminar 3 on a win 10 along side On1 Photo RAW 2019 and found it did not seem to run as fast as I expected it to I also have Luminar Flex ( a plugin for Lightroom) and that works a lot faster for some reason. Problem I have with Skylum and there products is that are in your face all the time once you become a customer and On1 (a long story) been asking for the option to create user camera profiles for more than 3 years and they are now offering it up as an option in the On1 2020 version at an extra $70 to upgrade. On a side note Skylum are offering up Photolemur also for free https://skylum.com/l/pp-photolemur was $35. Russ.
