Got my March edition the other day, looking through it and notice a few things i did not agree with. On page 70 there is the SLR College which shows new people how to do stuff, this instance is "How to switch lenses". It basically has no information on turning off the camera also laying the camera on it's back while changing the lens.

The problems with this i see, is that the sensor is statically charged, so if it is turned on then the dust will stick to it. The other problem with being on its back is that gravity makes dust fall down. The technique i think should be used it to face it down or hold it in your hand but not straight up.

Rant Over

Well, turning the camera off isn't that important in my book, but keeping the camera turned upside down is; I'm surprised they missed that.

*goes to rant ....then get's off the soap box before she starts....*

I have to admit that I don't always manage to hold the camera properly when I change lenses - not fun! Last time I chnaged my lens I nearly dropped the lens and the camera. Really though, I'm not the average photographer and a book shouldn't be encouraging bad habits!
