Ive been using a 1 GB Jessops CF card in my 350D since i bought it new 3 years ago. recently the camera has been having problems taking photos!! (which is a slight problem!) sometimes there will be a long delay, 3/4 seconds, between autofocusing and taking a shot. In manual, it just wont take a photo!! however when i take to CF card out the camera is quite happy and will snap away. obviously its a problem with the CF card. has anyone else experienced simular problems? are some CF cards faster/better/different?? which one should buy? thanks. pat

i havent herd of this problym myself, but yes all memory cards do have diffrent speeds at what they save and so on. i hear jessops ones are ok but go for a san disk atlest a 2gb card.
try reformating the card, or a firmware update.

thanks xsjadoman!! i havnt reformatted for ages come to think of it ill give it a try........

It's a good idea to reformat the card once you've downloaded the images. This "housekeeping" allows the card to store the data quicker. It's all down to the way the card stores data.

If you've been deleting images from the same card for 3 years its likely that the card has got very fragmented. I read (on here, I think) that its better to format your card than to delete images. That keeps the files contiguous rather than split up all over the place.

Re-formatting certainly sounds like your first choice, just make sure that you do it in camera. I've heard of a people having some problems later on with cf cards formatted in the pc.

Hi

Just make sure nobody buys a CF card from a company called Mobile-blue.com. I bought a 16gb sandisk and it turned out it was a counterfeit.
