Does anyone know the actual names of connector each major brand uses? Specifically I need to know which one Bowens uses but curious about other brands too.
So you're saying I shouldn't jam a fork into the outlet? All jokes aside I appreciate the warning but I'm not planning on rewiring anything I just want to make sure if I get a universal adapter I can find the correct connector for it otherwise there's no point getting the adapter.
Not at all, you're a legally responsible adult so please feel free to do whatever takes your fancy!
(Personally I wouldn't - altho' I did ram my mum's car keys into an electric wall socket when I was a very small kiddiwink, with dramatic, startling and luckily non-fatal results...it possibly explains a few things about me tho'!)
One thing to check with universal power supplies is to ensure you can change the polarity, and be careful to choose an adapter that has the same inside and outside dimensions. To my limited knowledge, there's no standards as such, so a certain size doesn't correlate to a particular current or voltage etc. But I'm sure you know all that so I'll shut-up and stop demonstrating my ignorance.
