Yes
I've never been into sports and happily watch films on Netflix. I have little time for general TV but the wife really wants Sky TV, even though we have a NowTV box and could add extra channels.

I've promised her if she passes her postgrad exam, we'll get it. Normally this would be straightforward but we don't have a BT landline. I've read online that as long as Sky can connect to the internet, it'll be fine. Our broadband comes from Virgin so cable rather than copper.

Can anyone verify whether we can proceed without a telephone line? Has anyone done this themselves?

Thanks in advance.

No Idea but I think that a chat with Sky themselves will give a definite answer. They seem to be all over supermarket / shopping centre foyers these days (but I'd double check everything with CS first father than believe the sales people).

As an alternative if it proves necessary, can you add sky channels to Virgin TV?

Yeah, ran it for years without plugging into the phone line. *Years* ago they made you connect to a phone line at setup but it's basically only so they can sell you stuff. Internet works better for that.

Thanks all. I'll look into it over the next few weeks.

I have my broadband with virgin and also have sky tv, we dont have a land line so you should not have any issues.
