SKY Q announced....

Quote from Sky

"And it needs to be; premium customers are the best bet for increasing revenue, as many people are looking to reduce TV bills.

So not for me :D

All these streaming boxes are great if you've got decent speed on your broadband, but for me in a large tow where I only get 6mb/s they're rubbish.. Tried Droidbox, Fire & Apple all stutter.. So another gadget that's no use to me!

That doesn't mean it's not expensive for what it is.

£10 a month extra just to watch the same crap on a second TV. 100s of channels all showing the same rubbish, repeated over and over again.

Well if you think it's crap then more fool you for subscribing!

The ongoing quest to kill the uks already antiquated internet infrastructure continues..

Yup. Don't sky still charge extra for HD too?

To be fair virgin was just as expensive for a comparible service.

£ for £ the most expensive is BT if you don't have their broadband/phone line... Sky a bargain compared to it! JMHO

And more fool you for assuming I subscribe. I can watch the same crap on free sat and get the few good sky channels on Now Tv for a fraction of the price.

Good for you. But you do realise that if you don't subscribe to it, then you're not being ripped off.

Anyway, back to the topic. Can't say I'm particularly interested in SkyQ. Maybe when 4K really takes hold, I will be.

You need to retread my post. I NEVER said I was being ripped off. I said Sky was a rip off.

Knowing sky you will require a sky subscription, an extra £10 /month for HD, then a further £10/month per box for these new boxes and they will more than likely try to force sky broadband initially until they eventually realise people aren't switching.

Totally disagree. I have sky and don't think it is a ripoff at all. Really don't understand how people come up with such daft generalisations.

We use it, and it provides features that no other provide provides in such an integrated way. Quite happy with the service and rate its value to us.

Not sure about their Q system. It doesn't really seem to be compatible with how we watch programmes and I fail to see how Q is going to enhance that.

I'm pretty sure sky is no different than all the other big providers.. Virgin BT etc plus they are the easiest to get good deals, so far I think I have everything except sport for £26.. Not HD though as my TV is falling apart
