Hi all,

Can anyone enlighten me please?

If I cancel Sky can I keep my email@sky.com @mail address (not my real address by the way) for a period of time so that I may change my online accounts to a new @mail address? BT or whatever.

When I cancelled my BT stuff , I kept my @btinternet.com mail for I think a quid per month
 
Sky emails can be kept indefinitely I believe. I've not been with sky for around 8 years and my email is still active. (y)
 
I've moved to Virgin from sky and I still use my sky email address
 
Thanks guys, the girl I spoke to at BT said they should keep the account open, but that could have been sales chatter :rolleyes:

I think it's probably safer to spend some time and change all I need to a @gmail account and then lose the Sky account. Bit of a bummer but makes sense to me ;)

I've been using gmail for all my routine stuff for a while now. It's accessible anywhere I have an internet connection, and avoids the hassle of updating addresses if I change service providers. I run my gmail accounts through Outlook though, because I prefer the tools/interface.
 
I moved from Sky to BT for broadband at the start of the year.

As long as you access the @sky.com email something like once a month (it really is that infrequent) it stays open.
 
I still have my BT emails, and that's working fine now I've been with Sky for some time too. So you should be fine!

Just open a gmail acct & run both (for as long as sky works)


I opened a gmail acct in readiness for leaving TT (which I haven't done yet) so have 2 emails running. The old Tiscali one is still useful for giving out to anyone If making general enquiries/buying etc. It keeps the newer gmail one very quiet/more private.
