Sky Box Issues

Just got home and went to wake the Sky+ box from standby....Nothing! Rebooted the box and everything was ok for about a minute, then the TV went black, the Sky box went to standby and again wouldn't wake. The scren then showed "Sky+ HD...Please Wait". Got bored of waiting and switched off the TV.

Anyone any ideas or is it a sign of Sky Box fatality?
 
My daughters SB did that a few weeks ago, I just unplugged it, waited 30 secs, plugged it in again, worked fine ever since.
Cant hurt to try it!
 
Sometimes taking the viewing card out and leaving the box unplugged for 10 minutes then restarting it with it back in can fix that sort of thing.

Used to do that with mine when I had sky. Usually only needed it once every few months.

First thing I tried.

Anyway, sod's law. Just went back downstairs to see that the recording light had come on. Swithced on the TV and woke the sky box to get a message that my software had been updated for the new Sky guide! If this was what was happening earlier, how come programs failed to record yesterday as well as this evening? These thing truly are sent to wind me up! :bang: Ah well, at least it's now working,

And I was just going to suggest trying a forced software update ;).
 
These things are sent to try us, Marc! Glad it's sorted itself out.
