Trying to improve the quality of my processed model images in Elements 5. I have found several tutorials on the web for improving the look of facial skin that effectively smooths but these all seem to employ a layer mask that PS2/3 has but not Elements 5

Has anyone come across a tutorial for elements that deals with such matters. I can do teeth, eyes, lips, etc but trying to get more punch out of the skin.

Thanks

Kevin

Sheep/Kevin. if your on a PC, have a look at portrait professional. it's about £30, and just for portraits. Unfortunately I'm on a mac, so can't use it. Still waiting for the mac version.

One technique is to use a large soft clone brush set to about 10%-20% opacity, and simply go round and clone from clean skin onto bits with wrinkles etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if Photoshop Express would have Layer Masks. Its a free online version of photoshop. I have never used it, but I hear it has most tools. Basically they use it to convince people to buy the real thing. You use the program without downloading anything, so it should be easy to use.

there is actually a download that adds the layer mask ability to elements. cant remember where it is sorry but im sure a google search would find it.

I also use Portrait pro on my PC and it really is worth every penny. make sure you have a good play with it and understand it because sometimes it over does it.

With a little look into the site, im having my doubts as to whether the online program is any good at all. Worth a try perhaps. Its good for online storage at least.
