I know a number of you guys use Photobox and was wondering if you could spare a couple of minutes to help out.

I am going to use them to print the proofs of a recent wedding. I have 284 images cropped to 7x5 and saved as TIFFs, sRGB, 8 bit. I will have to batch convert them to jpegs. How do you batch convert? I have to upload them all into Photobox's online store. Thanks Gillian

Probably not much help Gilly but I save at full size, max quality, and then use the photobox cropping tool.

Photoshop will do the batch conversions for you though, just create an action.

Best way to do this for a large number of images would be to create an Action as dod says, but then create a "Droplet" & save to your desktop (File->Automate->Create Droplet). This way, if you select all your images & "drop" them onto the desktop icon you've created they will all get converted & saved whilst you go off & enjoy a nice cuppa.
I've not done it for a while, so you may want to read more in the help files (and always convert from back-up copies not the originals), but it saves a looottt of time using individual Actions.

If you've got elements Gilly you can batch convert from TIFF to JPEG using the "process multiple files" function. I'm surprised CS" or Bridge don't have a simliar option.

Kev - I know, you would think CS2 would have something similar. Yes I have elements 2. I had a go last night using it. Not sure if I did it correctly though. I have only ever used it for converting stuff for web through Clikpic and have followed their guidelines.

I know it sounds daft, but when I follow some instructions, I don't understand what I am doing - I just do it. When I get home later, I will print a screen off the Elements 2 and pose my query about resolution blah blah then.

Phil T - That sounds good - an Droplet on the desktop. I will look at that later. Thanks you guys.

The best converter for batch I have used and it will convert most formats to whatever is ACDSee Pro, there is a renamer that allows to my mind a more descriptive description (that makes sense :cuckoo: ) using the EXIF data and I change all my shot RAWS for instance to jpegs to sort them quicker and then to other formats. the downside is that the manf are real slow in providing codecs for certain cameras and their support service rates amongst THE most cr*p but as a product and speed for conversion i think its quite cool

Gilly, in CS2 go to File > Scripts > Image processor and everything you need is there.

Wayhay! Colin, I did not know that. I have just tried it and it worked a treat. Thanks

nuffink - interesting that you use ACDSee - what version ?
I have 8, and have used it for some time, but recently got Elements, and it seems so much harder to use, so may stick with ACDSee for now - is there a 8.1 or 9..?
My manipulating skills are close to my picture taking skills, and my computing ability - hence the lack of pictures posted here, but one day I will try to get a picture or 2 on the forum to amuse and bolster ego's..
