Following on from last weeks childhood theme from Annao who kindly chose my swing as the winning shot.:)

I had thought of "Ancient" but then I thought the self portraits would come flooding in (mine excluded) :lol:

so, as I like interesting doors, gates, wondering what lies behind them or where they lead etc Ive decided this weeks theme is.........


Gateways

You have until next friday 8pm to upload your entry and winner announed over the weekend. Hows that sound?

Basic rules are;

All new photos, the idea is to take something new within the time frame!
Maximum of 3 entries per person!
Limited PP, cropping, exposure control, sharpening etc is okay, multi layered cut and pasting is not!
There was supposed to be a taking period 4-5 days with the posting period to follow 1-3 days!
The winner chooses the theme for the following challange!
 
Great theme PAt and I will get one in this time :)
 
I'll make an attempt at this one; I completely forgot about it last week!
 
oooh thats an interesting one...think i may need to venture out of my kitchen for this one!;)
 
Well I'll definitely enter this time (although I will probably be wasting my time)!
 
Hmmm. Not quite sure I'll find any suitable candidates, but I'm up for the challenge.

Also there is a limit of 3 entries so as it stands you won't win either :p
 
thought we had to shoot new shots for challenges not shots we already have or have I got it wrong :shrug: its easy to get them from our archives, I thought that the point of the challenges to make us think and come up with new shots

:thumbs: I'm with you on that Dave :) Hence I missed last weeks :bang: I had nothing fresh!!!:shake:

I had nothing new last week, as we had been on holiday, so I just put one from my archive so it was most probably dismissed as an entry and rightly so, my new years res was to enter every challenge and comp so I stuck it in anyway
 
Good point hepburn - perhaps in future we can list the rules for newbies in the starting post?

We should also remember this is meant to be a fun challenge:)

I'll update the first post...I dont recall seeing these rules before either :)

okay Dave, perhaps this is a stupid question but why 2 identical images?
 
Like the 2nd one....the shadow and the touch of colour on the gate :thumbs:
 
I like the colours of the second but would have preferred it straightened.
 
Thanks Pat thats what drew me to this gate, the strong shadow and colours on the decoration, it was a waiting game though as the sun came in and out, and then it was waiting for a strong shadow when it did, think I was there about 15-20mins waiting LOL

Thanks Ed, Ed it is straight, I checked it with guides, I think the post on the right has subsided a little,
