Single speedlite project ideas?

Hi all,

I have had a cheap full manual Meike MK410 (no TTL) speedlite since december and have made very little use of it as I tend to shoot sports action.
I decided to go on amazon and purchase a light stand, a swivel bracket to attach to the lightstand and yongnuo yn rf-603 wireless flash triggers so I can begin to learn some basic off camera lighting techniques in case I every have any opportunities to shoot any portraiture.

I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas for some little projects (maybe around the house) I can do with one speedlite to get to know my flash/other lighting techniques.

Might not be what you're looking for - but there's a lot of scope for creativity :)

Wow I really like those images, very creative!

My speedlite doesn't have the ability to do stroboscopic stuff as far as I am aware but could this be recreated with multiple images layered in photoshop at all?

Just to be clear, it's 'Multi' mode if you did have it. Yes you could layer it in photoshop instead.
