My son is flying to Brisbane next week in economy class, he received a text from Singapore Airlines this morning inviting him to put a bid in for an upgrade to economy plus and he will be notified if his was the highest bid. New one on me that!

My son is flying to Brisbane next week in economy class, he received a text from Singapore Airlines this morning inviting him to put a bid in for an upgrade to economy plus and he will be notified if his was the highest bid. New one on me that!

Yeah becoming more commonplace now, I did this a few years ago to get the “middle seat” left empty on my row on an Air Berlin Flight, but I’ve seen other airlines offer this now, hotels as well!

Just flown back from Houston on Singapore Airlines. Great service, we had the chance to bid on an upgrade prices started at something around £350 extra each.
Our entertainment screens packed up and they gave us a $150 voucher to spend in there duty free shop, they didn't have to as there were plenty of empty seats we could have moved to if we wished.

Air Berlin certainly won't be making offers any longer.
