Yes
My friend hates buttons. He is great with building pcs and most technical stuff, but for some reason, not cameras with a lot of buttons.

What would be a good compact digital for him that gets good results without all that complication ? He has a canon powershot IS3- american number, I am guessing.

Panasonic TZ5, quality 3 inch screen, excellent Leica 10x optical zoom 28-280mm with optical IS, full metal body, simple point n shoot which gives excellent results.

Posting this the other day on another thread, but I've been pleased with canon IXUS 70 which has almost no buttons at all!

I'd agree - TZ4 or TZ5 for the win!

I've a canon ixus 60 which was my first decent camera.you can get great results with no messing with settings. However if you then get more into it and want to get more in depth, there are easy to use functions which i am just learning myself and beginning to see improvements.
