Silver Efex 2

I am on a remote computer so I can't check with my PP desktop, but I think you may have to click on an icon top left of the main screen to view the presets. There are certainly plenty of 'em.

Yep, plenty of presets there, its all I ever use with it especially the vintage ones. Im pretty sure they were there on the left by default for me though? The only way I can see to hide/display the presets is a button the very top left, a square with an arrow coming out of it, that displays/hides the preset library.

Sorry Marc, but I'm more confused now. (Easily done!). What do you mean by "example" presets? AFAIK the two columns change to one column depending on the width of the shot you are editing.

The photo in the top half of the web page I linked has examples of 3 presets, one of which is Warm Split Tone which I can't find in Silver Efex 2. Also can't find High Contrast Red Filter.

Yeah, realised my stupidity on the widths of the previews. :bonk:
Ah ... the penny has dropped. I can't recollect the two presets you allude to. You can of course create your own. Is "high contrast red filter" literally the high contrast preset with the red filter added?

Haven, t been on the website for a while, but if memory serves me right, I thought there were some free presets to download free...

Not sure. I just rather liked the Warm Split Tone preset shown on the website. Seems odd to show it as an example if it doesn't come with the software.

There are two split toners on the right of the interface under finishing adjustments but neither has that name. I think the photographer has created the preset himself (starting with one of the two split toners supplied) and called it 'Warm Split Tone'. Here's the same Hong Kong pic (scroll down) without the SEP2 adjustment http://www.joshhaftel.com/City-Street.

I think you may be right. I had a play and managed to get close to it.

It's a bit misleading to show it o-n the web page promoting the software though.

I sent them an email earlier and just got this reply

Thank you for contacting Nik by Google, I hope you’re having a great day! The Warm Split Tone preset is actually called "Warm Tone Paper" and is available for free to our customers. I’ve attached 3 files to this message. These 3 files contains additional presets and recipes for Color Efex Pro 4, Silver Efex Pro 2, and HDR Efex Pro 2. Though these were available for download via our old website, they were not added when our new website was launched. Rest assured though, we’re always here to help and resend them if needed. Please let me know if you do not receive the files. If you do not know how to import the files into your program, you may click on the link below to view installation instructions.

Unfortunately the files weren't attached.

To their credit, I emailed them again and the files were sent a couple of minute later so  for Nik.

Ah, I thought they'd only sent you one (Warm Paper Tone).

Did Nik tell you which ones to install in which plug-in?

As far as I can tell only 42 of the 90 are for SEP2 - so presumably the other 48 are for CEP4 and HEP2.

I managed to get to the 'HEP only' list which showed 4 presets (Color + Sepia / Foggy Night / Old Vanilla / Turquoise Night) but I can't get any of them to install in HEP2 - it just produces a 'wrong file format' error box.

That leaves 44 which must be for CEP4 - but again, I can't any of them to install. I can't access the 'CEP only' list either.

Thanks for the above link - I'd forgotton about those pre-google downloads. Have downloaded them now and will add them to the various plug-ins later :)

That's why he sent them in 3 zip files. The Color Efex ones need to go in recipes.

Any chance of a screengrab of the contents of each zip file Marc? Then I can tell which .np file is for which plugin.

Good man Jonathan - that's a lot easier than having them all in one folder.
