I know this is probably a stupid question, but can you start a 52 at any time or does it have to start at the start of the year? I have an idea for one, and God knows I need the inspiration.

Any time - it's your rules really.
Start now and play catch up for the weeks you missed is one option.

You can start your 52 when you want & play catch up if want to . It's your project so do it as you wish .You can always shoot an earlier weeks theme when there's a Reshoot card or if you don't like a a particular theme you can play a Joker & do a theme from earlier . Entirely up to you
