Hey all,

So I got a Canon MP600 the other day.

Mainly for letters and the like, but I decided the print quality is good enough to warrant printing the odd image rather than send them to photobox who I happen to love. However, I cant seem to find the right paper that I like.

I always order matt finishes from photobox, but they have a lovely sheen to them but not the godawful glow of full gloss paper. Any ideas what I should be getting. I have tried Harman photo pro in matt and they are as flat as a pancake but look OK, just dont have any snap.

So, can anyone recommend a decent satin to matt finish that may match photobox and I could possibly source online?

Thanks in advance,

Diego.

Ilford gallerie classic pearl and smooth pearl.

Somewhere between gloss and matt with a decent amount of punch.

Having said that. I mostly use for monochrome these days.

I'm a perve. I prefer my landscapes on glossy paper and behind nonreflective glass!

The MP600 rocks, had mine for a little while now and think it's great, for the money i think the print quality is excellent. I use Epson Archival Matte Paper but the Ilford Satin/Pearl stuff is reallt nice as well

The Hahnemuhle paper is nice as well, they do a bright white that is great, can't remember exact name will look when i get home

Been using Epson satin (I have an Epson photo 950) when I can get it, as I prefer satin to all the other finishes, but it's not always available. I have just bought a packet of Ilford pearl and its lovely....though I don't print much these days as I am rarely happy enough with an image to warrent using up those (difficult to get) inks
