When we were in China I wanted a photo of the Forbidden city with army guards in front. So I went up to one of them and pointed at my camera then held up my hands a if to take a photo. he understood and nodded.

By doing this he was not annoyed and I had permission, you have to be so careful when in a foreign country with language barriers. Ok not the best photo in the world but one I wanted.

I wanted to send you a WB corrected, straighten version
with healed out post in FG but I saw you don't allow PM.

A very good take but the rendition needs tweaking.

I was lucky to get that photo .The Chinese are very sensitive about what you can take photos of.. This was back in 2010 . Inside the Forbidden City no problems but the tour guide kept a close eye on you. For example breakfast at the hotel every day two or three times this man walked past the dining room and looked in as if checking to see if you were there. May have been nothing but I was suspicious. So I was specially careful of what the camera was pointing at.
I wanted to take a photo when on the bridge over the stream that was in front of the Forbidden City on this side of the road, but I was moved on by one of he guards shaking his head

this is the bridge. Had to grab this shot while walking that guard on the left is the one that made me move on
