Hi all,

recently bought myself a new Sigma 70-200mm 1:2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens. I was a little disappointed that it shipped with the TS-21 collar as I'd like to have a hand grip on the collar. No problems thought I, I'll just try and get hold of the TS-41 (I've only found out about these after I bought the lens), anyone want to guess how much the TS-41 is?. . . . . best part of £200!:eek:

If you ask me that is just absolutely ridiculous! For a poxy bit of metal!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a work around, or know where I might be able to pick one up secondhand? I need to do some aspects of my photography one handed, and planned on lashing a remote shutter release to the foot so I can still shoot and maintain a good balance with the tripod collar. £200 has put the kibosh on that.

I think mine cost me about 2/3 UK retail - I asked Kerso to ship one in from the states.

Not sure if there would be such a discount now.

You don't find many about used - folk normally buy them with a lens and then if they sell the lens on the collar goes with it. When I sold mine it was one of the first to go up for sale in a while and I've not seen one since.

If you use the Arca Swiss system for quick release plates there are some products that can work as a hand grip that are compatible with that...

Yes I thought about fixing a mounting plate to it, but the trouble with the TS-21 is it's so small I reckon I still won't be able to be my fingers between the plate and the lens body.:(

the ts41 is a bit overkill for the 70-200 isnt it, its almost the same size as the lens :lol:
