Morning, sorry if a thread exists for this but I can get te search function to work from my phone for some reason?

Just wanted some info on the Sigma EX 28-70mm f2.8 lens?

Does anyone own this lens? As its an EX I understand this is Sigmas top of te range? How comparable is it to the canon L series lenses?

Can't really afford an L series at the moment so am looking at lenses that could do me well until I have a higher budget!

I've had mine for approx 2 months now and love it, this my walk around lens now, I haven't used the canon version, so can't compare them but you won't be disappointed with the Sigma lens
 
which version, the non-HSM was always supposed to be a more useful paperweight.

i had the HSM version and was happy for the brief time i owned it (was a temporary acquisition as a wedding 2nd camera)

The Sigma 24-60mm EX DG is supposed to be the full frame lens to look out for.

I had one and it was pretty awful at focal lengths past 35mm on full frame. The border (let alone corner) performance was pants.

As for the 28-70/2.8, will that even work on newer digital bodies I wonder?
