HI ALL
just wondered, if anyone out there has got or had one, and how good the sigma 800mm f5.6 lens is.
could be tempted if i knew the quality output was very good
i know its a monster and weighs a ton,but that dos not bother
me, also i have a sturdy manfrotto to mount it on

cheers paul

Matt the mod has one, i think (my memory isnt so good these days lol) i took this with it at a Silverstone test day a couple years back :)

hi ianc
thanks for the info and pic, i shoot fast action sports, motorbike roadracing, cars, rugby etc
i thought at some of the circuits you tend to be well back from
the track, and the extra length would be good

cheers paul

see if i get anymore advice about them

If you're going for that lens, then why not take a look at the 300-800 zoom that Sigma has? I've read about it, and it's supposed to be just as good as the 800 prime? The price difference is marginal, I figure  !?!

One of the guys I know used to have the 300-800 and picture quality was very good, the only thing he complained about was that water, grit, dust found it easy to get into the lens, to combat that he just kept a waterproof cover on it most of the time.
