Sigma 70-200 F2.8 & canon 1.4TC

The one gap I seem to have in my gear is the 70-200 range.
So I'm looking at both the canon & sigma 70-200 F2.8.
If I go for the sigma, does anyone know if my Canon 1.4 TC (MKII) will work with this lens? i.e. it won't damage the rear elements

You cannot use the canon TC with the sigma lens as the TC protrudes and will damage rear element.

You can however use the sigma TC with the canon 70-200.
