Yes
Does anyone have this lens? I know the focal length isn't ideal but the others are out of my price range really.

Um, that's it!

Thanks :)

The focal length? The shorter it is the closer he has to move into the subject I believe.

OK. :)

Then the answer is, sigma build is good on this lens.

IQ is 'good' - not great.

Focus and sharpness 'good'.

Overall, if the cost is ruling it is a better buy than most.

Sorry, general answer to general question, but have used it a few times successfully.

or for half the price of the sigma you could get one of these puppies....

Tamron SP 90mm f2.5 ....ok, so it has no AF or metering and is a bit of a beast, but its a cracking lens and certainly gets you used to using the M mode!

Yep that's it. I've read that a longish length is good for a macro lens and 50mm isn't very long :).

Thanks antihero - I don't mind the manual focus but I'm still a bit scared of manual metering. I'll check out some reviews though, cheers :)

metering using the histogram isn't that difficult, if i can do it.... :)

i struggled to find a review for it...although i did find a few specs here. I bought it on the strength of write-ups in forums and an article in August's What Digital Camera.....never heard a bad thing said against it, other than its a bit heavy and can be a touch too sharp for portraits!

Good look on whatever you decide dude!

Just a little bump. If anyone knows where to read a good review of this lens I would be very grateful :)
