Has anyone got one of these? Whats the barrell distortion like? Compared to kit lens what do you think?

Would especially like to here a comparrison to Sony Alpha kit lens.

ive got the tamron 28-75 f/2.8 since a few days, but i havent fully used it, its awesome as far as i did, but this weekend he will be getting the ultimate test... + i havent seen any bad reactions on this lens...
 
I've just got myself a 24-70 f2.8 Sigma - haven't had much of a chance to play but so far am very impressed. It's not an HSM lens but the AF does appear to be nice and quick. Will be using it in relatively low light tomorrow which should confirm hit or miss!

Sorry though - can't shed much light on the 28-70. The benefits of a 2.8 constant aperture won me over!
