Hello

I was just wondering what your views are, I was looking at getting the Nikon 24 - 70 F2.8 but at the moment im only using a D7000 and have beed advised that it is designed for FX & not as good on crop cameras i have read some old threads but would like some more feedback please ?

Thank you

24mm on a crop sensor can be a little too long, especially for indoor group shots. Most crop zoom lenses start at around 18mm. The 6mm difference at the wide end may not sound like very much but in reality it is very significant. If you currently have a standard kit zoom, set it to 24mm and check whether you find it wide enough before buying a 24-70.

I own the Tamron 24-70 VC USD (Canon FF) and find it to be a great lens. I am sure it will be the same with a Nikon mount, assuming you are talking about the VC version. I have never used the Sigma.

Never used the Tamron but love my Sigma and its on full frame canon so makes it a good walk about lens, onl slight drawback is the 82mm thread makes screw in filters harder to get unless you buy online
