Has anyone got any real world experience of this lens whilst being used on a Canon 7dmk2 ? How does it compare to Canons offering the 15-85 f2.8 ?
Thanks for your help

I used this lens on a Pentax K5 and K3, and was amazed how sharp it was at any aperture. In fact it was this lens that delayed my move to full frame (my main reason for changing was low light high ISO performance)

No experience of anything Canon though, but I would think it would work very well on a 7dmk2.

Isn't the canon 15-85 a 3.5 to 4.5 aperture lens?

Yeah sorry my typo there meant to say 17-55, still have you tried either ?

Yes, but the same underlying point applies. And more than one typo ;)

The Sigma 18-35/1.8 has a limited zoom range, but runs to f/1.8 - the 1.8 bit is its USP. Canon 17-55/2.8 is a great all-rounder, with a versatile focal length range and very respectable f/2.8 maximum aperture. Canon 15-85/3.5-5.6 has an even greater zoom range, but compromises with substantially reduced maximum apertures.

They're completely different lenses with different design priorities, though each one excellent at what it does.

Best lens I ever owned! They tested it against the 21,24,35 prime ziess lenses and it beat them all!
