I'm looking at buying a general purpose lens for holidays for my 650D and have narrowed my choice down to the following...
Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM
Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM

From the name and specs they appear very similar, apart from the obvious, but can anyone see any other differences?

Cheers

I've done the reviews on these - consensus seems to be image quality is lower on the 18-200 than the 18-250. 18-200s seem to go a lot cheaper used. Also consider the Tamron 18-275.

Sigma 18-200 Macro is the new 'C' lens which has just been released? The 18-250 Macro seems to be the same spec, but doesn't have the 'C', is cheaper than the 200, but obviously benefits from the extra 50mm.

Ah right, I'd thought it would be the earlier version. Ignore me then. :)

I am currently using the Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM and as a general purpose lens I find it really quiet good even with my limited photography skills. That said once you start to get to full zoom the edge can go a little bit soft in my opinion. I found the sweet spot to around F8.
