Hi,

I have been looking at getting a new lens, as i seem to find myself changing lenses quite alot, between my kit lens and my 55-250mm.

I have read reviews about the Sigma 18-200mm OS, but everyone is different, was wondering if anyone here has one and would tell me what they think of it, some reviews say its great, some say its not sharp

im also going on holiday at the end of the month and thought it would save me taking extra lenses and trying to change them all the time.

what you all think?? also if this is a bad choice what would you recommend with the same price range ( £300)

cheers.
Chris

Chris for the money it is a good lens and if it will suit you purposes thats all that matters.

I tried that lens and the Nikon, however I was in the position of having the extra funds to stretch to the Nikon so I did otherwise I would of got the sigma.

I would say visit a store and try both lenses. Cheers

Nigel

I've got an Sigma 18-200mm (Canon), and it's a good all rounder lens, and as mentioned above, it gives good results for the price.

I'm going to buy it in the next few weeks for a holiday in Italy soon. I had a play in a shop recently and to quite honest I found it more substantial than the Nikon.

Have a look at the March issue of What Digital Camera - there's a test of about 6 superzooms including the Sigma & Nikon. I'll let you find out which won :D

I have a Sigma 18-200 DC that will be up for sale as soon at I hit 100 posts :)
