sigma 18-200 f3.5-6.3 DC OS with canon 400D and 40D?

I haven't managed to sort myself a nice new lens for going away Monday but my brother will sell me his sigma 18-200 f3.5-6.3 DC OS, any opinions on whether this is a good purchase with the 400d and possibly 40d in the future? I had a play and like the pictures, and the zoom is great just want some other opinions.

He will sell it to me for £200, and it's like new.
 
I had one when i had my 400d and 50d and it wasnt a bad lens to be honest. Since its your brother id try and knock him down a bit in price.
 
He reckons that's a good price, I feel quite bad knocking him down further. I will go for 190 though. Surely it beats the standard 18-55 kit lens I use now, and I could sell it on when I upgrade in the future.
 
They are £275 new so its probably not a bad price, but they don't sell overly quickly on the forum here.
