Got the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary today.

I had some free time and went out for a first impressions test.

Some samples:

And Sigma 16mm F/1.4 on Sony A6000 (wide open)

Very close focus distance(!)m didn't expect that.

You can read it more here:

As you can see even in a bad light it can deliver good results on the crop sensor of A6000 (all handheld)

And on a Full frame Sony A7R II, after I crop I can use around 26MPx (in a 16:9 mode), which for me is pretty usable:

Looks like a nice lens. Surprised how well it does on full frame. Any idea what sort of focal length it replicates once you’ve chipped the corners off?

In this case it should be around 19-20mm, but at the same time we had the 16mm wide view - or may be someone can explain it better than me, I could be wrong :)

In my opinion even in Super 35mm mode (18Mpx) it produces better IQ compared when it is on 24Mpx Sony A6000

It looks like a nice lens, i was thinking of getting one for astrophotography, but have not got round to it yet.

From today.
Was walking without a purpose in Central London, almost like the tourists :))

The place is Central London (Holborn) a few hours ago:

By the way - amazing airport and amazing Butterfly garden!
