whrere is the best place to purchase this lens (not online) for the best deal etc ?
Or what is the best alternative lens etc

yes i have looked at this site its very informative for all prices.

do you recommend any other lens in this range ie Nikon
 
Hi Andy, welcome to the forum, by 'not online' do you mean 'not an import' or just from a local shop. You're going to be paying a heck of a lot more by buying at local prices than you would from somewhere like www.panamoz.com They give you great prices and great sevice too.

I bought the Canon version from WEX, not the cheapest but UK stock. It arrived quickly, well packaged and I'm very happy with it. Amazon did have it cheaper but I couldn't get a sensible answer as to their source so they lost a sale and WEX gained one.
