Hello,
:help: Has anyone had any experience using this lens please? - are the results any good? :suspect: Considering that it's been out for a while now there's a dearth of reviews/ info about it.

Thanks & happy shooting,
Dudley

LensRentals in the USA have some experience of it ... but not good by any means. It's documented here and here.

I do indeed own one and although I haven't really used it much I have been relatively happy with the IQ I have seen so far. As with any lens like this at the far end it is a little softer than I would like and also the lens is a bit of a beast so handheld it will take a bit of strength to carry it round for long periods.

When I get a chance I will try and get some shots up but have been laid up with flu for a couple of weeks now so just havent had a chance to get out and play :(

Was considering this lens until I saw some similiar reviews. In the end I opted for the 150-500.

I was concerned too but being an early adoptor I guess you do have to take a chance but having 2 years warranty with the lens if it packs up then it goes back, simple as that. One word of warning though don't buy one second hand as you will have no legal rights under the warranty to get it sorted unless the original owner will deal with the warranty for you, this is why I actually paid out for a new copy on this lens in case of any problems.

As a direct compare to my old Nikon 70-300 VR I would say this one is as good across the 120-300 range as the Nikon (and I do mean that) then 300-400 you get a pretty damn good lens but lose a touch of IQ in the last 100mm
