Hi guys does anyone have This ? Is it any good or should I go L ? IQ the most important factor

Was considering one of these a month or so ago. Decided in the end to go with the Canon 100-400 L.

I have one of these and think that it is great value for money. My recent post in the motorsport section have some samples of shots taken with it coupled with my 450D. Also many more on my flickr site.

IQ is best around F8 in good light and at the lower end of the focal length, but I have got some great shots taken at 400mm.

I had one of these and it was good. I think it'd good value for the money.

I've got a Sigma 150-500 OS but the wife has the 120-400 OS and both of them are excellent. The OS system is brilliant, I manged to get a handheld shot at 1/10sec with the 150-500. The IQ are the same and it's excellent overall. I had the Canon 100-400 L and after a lot of testing I kept the Sigma.

Here's a shot with the 120-400 and my 5D3.

Thank you i was thinking the canon 100-400 or 400f5.6 but not sure if they would really be worth the extra £s?

I have the Sigma and I reckon it's worth every penny.
This was at 400mm on a D5100, sharp enough for me.

I had the 120-400 on Nikon, again fantasic lens.
Supersharp at all focal lengths and apertures, and the OS works very well.
Gutted I sold mine.

I had one a while back and thought it was pretty good and sharp, will try and dig some shots out but the ones above are as good as anything I took and show its IQ well.

Thank you Guys all been very helpful i think this is the one for me would be more than happy with the pics you've posted.

Hi guys
Wonder if anyone could assist me I have a canon 1100d and a sigma 120-400 f5.6. Is there a way of pairing the lens to the body in the setting to make the pics sharper. As my mate has the 7d and he set his up but I can't seem to find anything on the Internet about setting them up, just want to make sure I'm getting the best quality in my photos. We do a lot of wildlife shoots in the wild and it always in the 400mm range. Love this lens very good.

Firstly to the OP, although I don't have the 120-40p I have the 150-500 which is optically similar. When I was deciding I looked at both lenses and went with the extra length. Check out my Flickr for some examples.

Secondly to Brett the 7D has the ability to micro adjust the focus,as does the 50D and higher end full frame bodies. As far as I know your camera doesn't. However if you send your body and lens to Sigma they will calibrate the lens for you

I think it's a cracking lens for the price.
