I am getting one of these lenses for my D90 and look forward to using it. I have looked at some reviews and and it seems the only bad thing about it is the autofocus is slow and noisey.

Just wondered if anyone has one and what they think of it.

Why would you want autofocus on a macro lens anyway? Can't say I've ever noticed the af being particularly noisy or slow on mine anyway

It is a stunning lens. The AF is slow and noisy. However, as Graham says AF on a Macro lens if being used for Macro is no use.

AF can be slow if you don't use the limit switch. It's a great lens and makes a decent long portrait lens too.

There a good lens I had used one for a while until sadly it decided to give up on me it did get a fair amount of use though, but I cant fault the sharpness of the images I got with it.

As others have said if your buying it for the macro side you wont really use AF

I have the same Lens, and have found it to be Excellent, TBF the AF is a little noisy but as said in other posts i do my fine tuning by rocking the camera back and forth (that said the majority are OOF thru no fault of the lens mind u)
