Sigma 105 macro question

At the moment I have an old screw drive Sigma 105 which I have owned for a lot of years and Nikon D500, last year I was using Olympus and the 60mm macro, during the Olympus ownership I started taking my insect images to what I considered the next level, not saying I got there but was on the right track.
So before the advice pours in I don't need AF for macro I know I do, so the question I read a report on the latest Sigma that sounded like it would not AF to its closet focus/ magnification, is this right.

This is the direction i want to head in and feel the latest Sigma should AF faster than my current screw drive one.

It might with still objects but I doubt it'll be able to keep up with flying insects - I know my Nikkor 105mm can't on a D750. On the rare occasions I try these days, I use trap release, setting the camera to only release the shutter when focus is achieved. Even then I get a fairly low hit/keeper rate. (Luckily, it's not really where my interests lie!)

I have the latest sigma 105 on Nikon mike , will give it a try later on the D7200 and let you know .. not even sure whether to keep it or not ,the olympus macro is a beast might get another one for the g80

Thanks. part of me doubts it will match the Olympus set up.

Same gut feeling here mike , probably move the sigma on shortly .only had it a month bought it on a whim
