Hello, I have a what would you do question. I have the sigma 10-20mm lens for my Nikon but it just isn't getting used and I'm considering letting it go. I currently have the 18-70mm, 70-300mm, 35mm and 50mm as well as the 10-20mm.
Would you let it go and buy something else? What would you buy? Have you let one go and regretted it?

Warm wishes Emma

Do you shoot landscapes? If you do keep it.......

If you need the money then sell it otherwise go out and play.

I found my sigma 10-20 to be the most fun lens i had :)

No I'm not a landscape kind of girl

I just don't use it and feel sorry for it sat unloved in my bag.

I guess you're answering your own question really Emma. It sounds like you don't use it and generally you don't shoot one of the subjects that it's ideal for. What is your preferred genre of photography?

It was my most used lens after my standard walk-about zoom. It only had one defect. It wasn't quite wide enough. So when a clumsy "assistant" kicked it terminally across the room I took the opportunity to get the even better and wider (and bigger and heavier) Sigma 8-16mm. If I had to make do with only two lenses that would be one of them.

Yeah, I think I have. I like to do a lot of abstract, still life, buildings.

I quite often go out with just one lens, I might try the sigma and see if I can fall in love with.

I bought a Sigma 10-20mm lens last year after considering it for a very long time. I was going abroad to a specific location and the lens was going to be beneficial, and I had the money, so thought why not. It is not a lens I will use a lot, but if I need something wider than my 16-80mm lens it is an option.

If you need the money then sell, but the distortion of a wide angle lens could lead to some very abstract images. As for what else to buy, do you need to buy anything? What can't you do with the lenses you have now?

I had one and loved it on my d300, sold it and went full frame, then went back to dx and it was the first lens on the list... Although I actually got the tokina 11-16, very similar lens.
If it's a focal length you don't use, what length do you use the most?
The only reason to sell it would be to upgrade something else if you need to free up the cash.
The sigma 18-35 might be something to think about? At 1.8 it offers some creativity options and significant upgrade over the 18-70. As a 1 lens option it offers a lot more versatility compared to your 35mm, but would depend on what your most used focal length is, and is quite heavy too.

I us my 35mm I would say 90% of the time to be honest. The 18-35 is food for thought though. Thank you

I don't need the money, I just think camera equipment is similar to musical instruments, they should be used not looked at . As for what I can't do with what I have... possibly macro?

The 18-35mm sigma 1.8 art lens is the best lens you will ever own

That's Ok on full frame, but she may have DX if talking about the 10-20mm which is a DX lens, and will give the equivalent of 15-30mm full frame, but on a DX camera.

The sigma is a dx lens

Yes, that's what I said in my post

They are both dx lenses! So the 10-20 will be 15-30 eq and 18-35 is 27-50! It's a better range for her

Sorry, I am thinking of my own Nikon 18-35, which is fx, mixed up. Still liked my 10-20mm though on my DX camera.
