All,

Totally confused by this issue, so if anyone can shed some light and stop losing my sanity i would be very grateful;

I have a Nikon d7200 (and a d7000) and have always used with these two a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 DG HSM EXII lens without any problems. i decided to purchase a 1.4x converter, to get me closer to the action at airshows and to wildlife. The converter is the 1.4x DG HSM version. When i put the converter on either bodies and attach the lens i get an f0 error, if i wiggle the lens a bit (although even that seems to have stopped working) it will show an aperture reading, So one could assume its the converter, EXCEPT when i put my friends sigma lens on the converter/bodies it works perfect, his lens is the OS version, and if i put on an old 135-400 (Sigma lens), i dont get an f0 error either, so i am losing my mind as to what is wrong !!!!.

Any Ideas anyone please !

Hi Steve,

Have you contacted Sigma? I had a n issue with a lens many years ago and they said it was probably a chip issue. They asked me to send the lens to them and they offered me a brand new one for £30 which I accepted. Great decision as the lens worked brilliantly and the images were as good as any Canon L lens I used.

Cheers - Nelsinki

Let me get this right ...

  1. Sigma 70-200 non-OS on your D7200 (and the D7000) - works
  2. Sigma 70-200 non-OS plus 1.4x converter - doesn't work
  3. Sigma 70-200 OS (borrowed) plus 1.4x converter - works
  4. Sigma 135-400 plus 1.4x converter - works
Sounds like there is a incompatibility between the Sigma 70-200 non-OS and the 1.4x converter? Sigma say they should work together, so its possible there is a small misalignment - you need to contact Sigma see what they say / can do.
