Sig 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC MACRO

Gets a good write up. Down side is the variable maximum aperture but it's still pretty fast and sharp. As you zoom out in lower light, you really need to watch the shutter speeds.

I've got one and I'm pleased with it. Nothing bad to say about it really, it's the lens that stays on my camera the most.

If you can afford it, there are better lenses on the market. If that is your price range the it's a decent purchase.

I have one and love it! It's a very highly rated lens and a perfect focal range for a walk about lens on an APC sensor

A small quote from that review:

Even better than that it delivers a performance which matches and sometimes even exceeds more expensive lenses. This includes the in-house competition as well as genuine brand lenses (such as the Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 USM IS).

Don't hold back, for the money it really is a cracking lens imo

I have one of these, and its my 90% lens, stays on the cam 90% of the time, produces some cracking sharp images, you will not be dissapointed. Great price for a cracking lens.
