I had just read that on the BBC site before coming here, I kinda see their point though - they have to be on the safe side. Then of course by being safe, they upset the genuine people just wanting a cake made.
 
Can someone please point out when nudity became pornography?

Again, excessive and biased media reportage fuels national paranoia creating an atmosphere of unrest, mistrust and fear.

Not going to have much to look back on in future generations if we can't take photo's with people in.....
 
Nothing absurd there, ASDA made a decision a long time ago not to print anything with nudity, they were very reaonable about it imo.

Next they'll "make the decision" not to print anything with cigarettes or smoking in it. A little later followed by a "decision" to ban pictures of people with freckles, because that is – then! – suddenly considered 'pornographic'...
Who the **** are they to determine what is and is not allowed in my photos?

Don't patronize ASDA! They are weird sicko's!

Like any business they have the right to choose who they serve and who they don't, they have the right to choose what they sell and what they won't. I guess if it bugs you so much that they won't print pictures of nude babies on birthday cakes maybe you should avoid them. I doubt the loss of your custom will keep them up nights.
 
As asda is owned by walmart and walmart won't even sell uncensored music I don't find this surprising in the least.

It doesnt say anywhere you arnt allowed to take them does it, its just them enforcing a policy they have adopted quite a while back. They could bring in a ruling to say they wont print any pictures containing the colour red if they so wanted.

If you chose to get the stuff printed by them then you chose to accept their terms and conditions. If you dont agree to the terms and conditions dont chose them to print your work.

From reading the article I get the impression the word pronographic has been inserted there by the media to make the story sell. :shrug:
 
I'm assuming that this cake would be a one off for the people wanting to purchase it, so the photo wouldn't be seen beyond the people who brought it in and a few members of shop staff, so I fail to see where the problem is!

I could understand if they didn't want to sell something like that from their shelves!
 
I have to say i kinda feel adsa were in the right about this, Boots would contact the police if you tried to develop that pic these days!
Its there policy and why should they break it for her, also who wants a picture of a bottom on a cake anyway?? Surly she had better pictures she could have chosen.

That's rediculous...

Slightly off topic...I've had a situation where a perfectly innocent weblink opened a site with (perfectly normal) naturist pics on it. The problem is there were kids included in the pics and obviously I just moved on, but I was thinking, could I get done for having accessed pics of naked kids, even innocently?

Upon reading the description of child pornography on the IWF website, I fear not thankfully:

"The law on images of child abuse is relatively clear. It means any images of children, apparently under 18 years old, involved in sexual activity or posed to be sexually provocative."
