I heard about this ba*&^%d at lunchtime on the news.

He got 3 years. The irony of it was that it was followed by a broadcast about a guy who got caught speeding and got 4 years!!!

Hang the sick f*%*er if you ask me. People like that don't deserve a life.

Consider that a paedophile who pleaded guilty of 25 offences including one against an 18 month old baby got spared jail with a Community Rehabilitation Order. Alternative consider the case of a drunk driver that killed a mother and 8year old daughter who got a suspended sentence and £2000 fine .

I think you'll agree that 3 years is actually quite harsh given today's standards of sentencing.

The bit I am most concerned about is the BBC news article does say:

A crowd had gathered around, watching and laughing, and the incident was filmed on a mobile phone.

I find it appalling that the only person that appears to have been charged was this man.

When you look what peer pressure can do - Abu Ghraib, The Stanford Prison Experiment etc, could it not be argued that this man has paid a hard price for a moments stupidity egged on by a crowd of mates.

I have no sympathy with the guy at all, and he got an appropriate sentence in my view.

What's a little perturbing is you can't pigeon-hole the guy as street scum with no values, he's an ex soldier who has been subject to discipline and standards.

People think this sort of obscenity is a new thing but believe me its not, when I was a teenager a local man of little stature ironically with the sir name of Large was tormented by youths who finished up killing him and throwing him over a wall. This kind of sub human has always been there. All they need is to hate or misunderstand, be poorly educated and brought up by people who don’t give a sh*t, but most of all to have a lack of RESPECT for their fellow man and the environment they live in, If parents and society continue to accept this sort of behavior and let it prevail as the norm then it will. The goodie goodies and PC brigade have had long enough to prove their way, ITS FAILED and its time to turn back the clock and give the local copper , teacher , neighbour and parent the power to correct, I don’t mean thrashings but I do think a clip round the ear hole without the fear of prosecution wouldn’t go amiss.

If the authorities and Government in particular don't get a handle these people sooner or later people will take matters into their own hands. Police don't come out for anything, scum roaming the streets, world gone mad. What a brave soul this bloke was to treat a woman in such a way. Hope he gets his head cracked in prison.
