I recently achiered a Canon EOS-1 N. The camera condition is great and everythingis working smoothly. However, I can only release the shutter if I am using a Canon EF Lens. If I am using anyother lens with an adaptor ring, the shutter will stuck. Upon further investigation and comparing the mount system with a Canon 20D, I realized that inside the mount there is a lever- in the picture -, which whenever is pushed up blocks the shutter reliase. Does anyone knows what is this lever's function? Is there anything I could do to work around that?

Surely it’s the adaptor ring that’s at fault?
If the camera functions perfectly using EF lenses mounted correctly, there’s nothing wrong with the camera but the adaptor ring is incompatible

Use native EF lenses or a different adaptor.

I suspect it's the addaptor ring as Phil says, but what addaptor ring and lens are you using? Some lens can stick out at the back and catch the mirror as it cycles, this mostly happens with old lens made for a different make camera though, and even then isn't common.
As for a fix, I suppose you could drill or dremil part of the ring away to clear the pin, although personally I'd be sending it back and trying a different make.

On his profile it says a Leica R so only a guess that that is the one being used.

Hopefully he will return to address the questions arising?

I surmise that English is not his mother tongue and in his description something might have been lost in translation?
