I was wondering if anyone knows anything about shutter releases and soft release buttons for film cameras? I have been informed (I dont know how reliably) that the vintage shutter releases with the push type lever and the vintage shutter buttons would work on my new Fuji X10 (when it arrives). Does anyone know what screw size they are or where I might find one - do i need to scour the charity shops or speak to a camera dealer of some sort?

Not sure about the X10 compatibility but this is the release your looking for:

Edit: Looking at the photos of the camera - it looks like it has a thread for one.

I think it does but I was looking for a more retro/vintage type one! Just found one at speedgraphic but they want £15!

you can pick them up from ebay or any old camera shop. I see you are in Lancashire so maybe a trip to Real Camera Co in Manchester?

Cheers for the links Richard. The ebay ones are ok but have had a few reports of them breaking so will try and avoid those it seems the only other manufacturers are based in the states and it costs the same as buying the thing to post it which seems absurd!

I have started calling Vintage Camera shops in the UK on the off chance they have some lying about that they wish to sell...
