Beginner Shutter count

Could someone please help. I've listed a canon 6d in classifieds and have been asked for a shutter count. I've never done one before and when I googled how to do it I then followed a link to download some software and got a load of viruses. Can anyone advise/post a link to a good honest counter/checker?

I've tried the link with a jpeg and raw both straight from camera but it says no shutter count info in these pics?

I just tried it, no problem.
I uploaded a pic from one of my pic folders on my laptop.

Hi Lee, As Ken said I too have just tried it without a problem.

myshuttercount.com doesn't do Canon though!

Try www.camerashuttercount.com and/or www.eoscount.com.

Or, depending on how you've got the camera set up, the file number might be the shutter count (or close to it).

The above links are those suggested by AP in their current issue. IIRC, Canon themselves can find out the shutter count but might charge.

Hmmm, I've tried jpeg and raw both straight from camera and just saying ''no shutter data, click ok if you want to see exif''
Am I missing something?

Your camera doesn't add shutter count information to images
also the first link so no shutter count available ( canon 60D )

Managed to use eos count. only 14139 clicks

just found out it shows up in Magic lantern and pleasntly suprised to see just over 10,000

For what it is worth I used a app called shuttercount on my mac. It's in the app store and works well for Canon.
