Good afternoon, i have just tried to find the shutter count on my Canon 70D an i got the message :

CAMERA SHUTTER COUNT
Find out how many shots your Digital SLR has taken
RESULTS
Your camera doesn't add shutter count information to images.
Click here for an alternative piece of Mac software which can read the count from your camera body.
CHECK ANOTHER CAMERA

Can anyone tell me how I can make my camera add shutter count information?

Many thanks
Simon

The counter program you have tried does not show the 70D on the list of 'works with' cameras!

This one claims to show the 70D on a Mac?

I just went through this exercise a few months ago. Most cameras write shutter count to the EXIF data on each photo. So, most of the free counting apps and websites just scrape the count out of the image's metadata.

Starting with the Digic 6 processor in 2013, Canon stopped putting that data point into EXIF. Now the only way to get at that piece of data is through the same wifi connection path used by the Canon Connect application. And the only software I could find that has solved that connection was the ShutterCount app. It's cheap but it's not free, and it only works on Mac and IOS. I added it to an IPad and it worked fine.
