Hi all

Nothing of significance changed (updated On1 Raw software) but I am seeing these processes as "suspended" in the Task Manager......................and only the first time I have spotted anything 'suspended'???

Windows Shell Experience Host
Windows Default Lock Screen > Lockapp.exe
Cortana

Any thoughts & insight much appreciated

PS no change to the above following a restart to flush the system!

Just curiosity, Laurence, how much RAM is available in your machine?

16GB, this is the maximum that the motherboard supports.

On my iMac, Activity Monitor was showing me some kind of similar
behaviour that my IT guru thought would be solved with maybe dou-
bling the RAM to 64GB. He was right… again! :)

FWIW this is W10 Pro 64 bit

At the time of viewing the status reported above there were no programs running other than the default W10 ones and those few in 'start up folder'.

Looks like, perhaps, a W10 'thing' where a service is suspended until required again....................either by user intervention or W10 running something in the background...???

My knowledge of windows is null so can be of no help!

I thought this was one of the design features of windows 10, being able to suspend services that weren't running/being used, to save CPU and memory. UWP Apps

Ah! makes sense..................though first time I have noticed it :)

Edit ~ I did a search...............as soon as I typed in the search box, searchUI.exe in Task manager details tab, went from suspended to running..............a few seconds later it went back to suspended.

PS on an unrelated note ~ I find on boot up that "Super fetch" takes ages and resources slowing down the start up process. Do I/we really need Superfetch, as such will stopping it running have a significant impact of the day to day usage of the PC???
