I decided to record myself working in Photoshop :suspect:
If you have any tips how can I improve, please do post.

If you think this is good or rubbish, please do post.

This is just a quick edit. Usually I work slowly and it takes me couple of hours per portrait. This time I decided to work fast to save you watching 3 hours clip :D

Usually I use tablet, this time it was done with only a mouse.

I hope this will help somebody only starting photo-editting :smashin:

Clip is compressed and speed-up to limit file size. There is no audio.

Hi, it is probably very interesting but I watched just over a minute and trying to focus/follow on where the mouse was and what it was doing made me dizzy (I do have a cold) so had to stop.

I think this type of video needs sound or at least a written dialogue so the viewer has some idea of what is going on instead of having to play visual catch up.

Still better than I could do, never tried to do a video of what I am doing (and have no need/intention at present of doing so :) )

I argree video needs sound, I would do one but my son broke my mic so i can't untill I can replace it.

I made a video tut a 3 years ago, for fake tilt shift, sorry again no sound dont think people would understand my strong Lancashire accent, best watched full screen then you can see what I did

Interesting clip, but I would not remove every single wrinkle, especially under the eyes, as it can lead to a photo that looks unnatural ("photoshopped" rings in my mind). You could soften and lighten them with a low opacity clone tool. Also, be careful with eye whitening, you don't want to end up with Goa'Uld eyes from Stargate (unless it's a desired effect) :D

As someone new to photography that was fascinating. Pity there was no sound though.

Thank you all for the comments and please do post your videos as well.

I don't have a mic and was after few pints doing it, those are two main reasons behind no sound in the video. I was thinking about adding some music, but everybody has different taste and this could end up with people not watching it because they don't like the music.

Tip about watching the video full-screen is good, might help a bit. If I ever decide doing another one I think I will add some caption explaining what am I doing.

TBH the clip is a little bit exaggerated as usually I work slowly and try to be less photoshop-heavy. Having said that, this is my missus in the picture and this is how she likes them (no wrinkles)

hm.. tempted to do one, but eh, feeling lazy, and itd probably only last half way through the video before merely documenting me swearing at my graphics tablet :P

Oh c'mon, you know you want to :) Too late now :)

Ps. just uploading the same tutorial I posted before... this time with captions

if you can tell me how to fix my graphics tablet, i will gladly record one, poor quality audio and all :P

First post updated with new video with captions. Hope this helps

its a known if somewhat rare problem with the specific tablet as far as i can tell, its a genius one - my moms but she never uses it and im too cheap to buy a wacom just yet >.>

every so often when your using it it randomly draws a massive line all the way to the right

happens rarely enough its just about usable, but just barely, so im probably giving in and getting a wacom soon :P

two causes i can think of is a driver issue, since win7 doesent support it and im running it off generic drivers, which i think is less likely, because there was a guy with exactly the same problem with the right drivers on xp - or it might be something to do with how it works out the lines. it doesent always put down exactly what you draw, im assuming it takes samples and works out the interim, get away with a less sensitive and cheaper tablet that way, the jumping is always when its being used a lot, so im assuming its something to do with whatever chip they have not being able to cope
