I am disappointed in the quality of the photographs used to illustrate the news.
The Daily Mail regularly uses the same photographs over and over again which are in my opinion poor.
I am not sure if I am allowed to post their pictures and point out that this is the copyright of The Daily Mail:

Surely they could have straightened this as it is not news merely a stock photo.

Comments invited.

Why straighten it? Would that not just make it boring? Why a new photo? Westminster Palace has looked like since 1840 or so... it hardly needs updating :)

It is a pretty poor representation though, i would have thought Getty might invest in a tilt/shift lens

We had this debate a few months ago and someone 'corrected' the above photo in PS....looked a million times worse.

Although maybe extreme here, I have a fondness for converging verticals.

:agree: This subject come up so many times,in this day and age with so much work done by freelances,if you feel you can do better jump on the boat :)

You could.. or you could spot the AFP/Getty watermark and realise it's not copyright the Daily Fail. Maybe you were distracted by the converging verticals? ;)

If you want it straight yes. However.. a tilt shift wouldn't have helped being so close to the buildings. That would be touch and go with 5x4 straightening that from so close.

I think it adds a little dynamism to what would otherwise just be yet another boring tourist shot. It's not a brilliant image though, no. Straightening it would just make it even more boring than it already is IMO.

I think it's an excellent and highly meaningful image. The message leaps out loud and clear to me at least - I read it as saying that Parliament is crooked....

He he... :)

Well said.

Looks to me the type of image you'd get from google street view style car cameras.

I am disappointed with the Daily Mail being a hateful ultra right wing piece of trash

Exactly. The quality of the photos in the Daily Mail is the last thing I would be concerned about with that publication. The only thing more worrying than the Daily Mail itself is the online version and the comments posted from the readers.
