should I take my Nikon 300 f2.8 VR and 300mm f4 E PF

off on a short holiday, just 10 days, and I should see quite a lot of birds .. generally in the wild ... not expecting to find any hides

I will take a lightweight tripod and x 2TC and x 1.4TC + a D750

I bought the 300mm f4 VR E PF as I thought that it would solve my cabin baggage weight problems

just starting to pack and I do not think I dare leave my 300mm f2.8VR at home

(I cannot take my 600mm f4)

I'd leave the f4 and just take the f2.8 (with a x2 extender). I might stick a bag-hide in the luggage. But that all depends on where you're going and how much time you can dedicate.
